Aroha 6: Exploring Physical Education and Mathematics and Statistics

Related image Being young explorers in Aroha 6, they learn new things about the world around them as they work together to investigate into the subjects of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math!

Here is a sneak peak of our young explorers  investigating with their peers in becoming confident competent learners through problem solving, sharing their ideas, turn taking and being risk takers...

Through Mathematics and statistics strategies we learn to explore the use of patterns and relationships in quantities, space and time...For example as part of our Maths warm up,  we sit in a porowhita (circle) we carefully  observe each number from an active board, identifying and using the tools to make up the digits in the appropriate place value boxes
( hundreds, tens, ones).
We also explore other Maths curriculum areas such as fractions through cutting up fruits and vegetables and cakes into halves and quarter pieces...

Image result for yes  It is FMS time!!!

Thank you Counties Sports Fundamental Movement skills team for another great experience having fun exploring physical education through playing games and learning to balance on our own two feet...

Well done Aroha 6! Keep it up!
